I would like a list of the titles and dates of my posts to show up in a right side bar. I already have an ‘archives’ widget, but would like the post titles and dates to appear under the month heading (or somehow else). Thanks!

    Hi there,

    The only way to display that data in the sidebar is by using the Display Posts shortcode in a text widget:

    But the shortcode is limited to 100 posts, and as you publish more posts it will have a very real impact on your site’s loading time. If you want this type of index on your site, I’d rather recommend putting it on a separate page on the site than in the sidebar.

    Keep in mind that people visiting a blog expect to see the most recent content published on the site first, as that’s how blogs work, and a list of all posts on your site is unlikely to motivate anyone to visit more posts. Instead, use categories and tags to classify your posts according to topic, and use category and tag widgets to make those more easy to find.

    People will be much more likely to click on a link for a particular topic to see more posts on that subject, than they are to click on a specific post solely based on the post title and publication date.
