I would like to FTP updates to my website.

I would normally update my website on my host server through ftp. How will I be able to update it now that my domain is now directed to Word Press.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
For security reasons, we do not allow users FTP access to their WordPress.com site.
Is this the site you’re asking about:
You can make all changes to that site through your dashboard here:
https://nhk49.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Let me know if I can answer any other questions!

I did not know that when I mapped my domain I and others would not see my original website. I would like to undo this and resume settings to my other site. I’ll go back to my control panel at Ipower and point my domain back to there.

I am able to see my website and the original WP site which I installed from my hosting dashboard.
However, I no longer can get my premium WP upgrade blog site to load now that I reverted my domain back to my hosting provider.
I could use some help about why I no longer can view my published post by going to nhk49/wordpress.com. When I pointed my domain to WP, I lost my nhksystems website because nhk49/wordpress.com came up when I entered my website address. Now it is just the opposite. -
Hi there!
I just visited nhk49.wordpress.com and your WordPress.com site is appearing. And when I visited nhksystems.com your non-WordPress.com site appeared. These domain updates can take up to 72 hours to fully take effect. If you’re still not seeing the changes, please clear your cache and cookies:
It looks like you’ve still got the mapping upgrade connected to that domain though. Would you like me to remove that for you?
Can you tell me what you were trying to have happen with your domain? Are you trying to have your WordPress.com site appear at a subdomain like blog.nhksystems.com?

Thanks, I found the same today (8/4/14), and It is quite a new experience coming to WP. I know it will be educational as well as entertaining. What happened is I originally installed WP from on my web hosting provider. After that while introducing my own blog on it with a video, and the video would play just sound. As I waited to see if the visual would also come through after loading. When it starting playing I seen that the video overlapped (one with sound and the other had both), then when I paused one, one kept playing but the overlap was still active. This caused me to look at the Video Press plug-in which I thought would be great to use instead of Flash. The only thing was, I found even though I had Jetpack the Video Press upgrade link (button) wouldn’t take me though to upgrade Video Press. After doing work around methods I got in touch with Jetpack. The reply was I needed to do a blog on WP first. Well, I thought, I did that why can’t I get the Video Press. As In looked on the page to upgrade Video Press there also was upgrade to WP Premium, so I did. Not realizing at the time this had to be done to get Video Press. Well $159 later (not what I wonted), I created two WP programs. One I installed and the Premium WP. All I was really trying to do was use Video Press on my installed WP site. Which wouldn’t happen until I Paid the $60. As I expected, Video Press is just what I needed under the circumstances and I will have to live with the two WP sites.
Thanks again for your time getting back to me. Have a grand day, Nsasi -
Thanks so much for that background info! I’m more than happy to refund your WordPress.com Premium plan if you’d like. This will leave your VideoPress upgrade fully intact for your Jetpack linked site.
Let me know if you’d like to do that!
You can also set your WordPress.com site to private so you don’t need to worry about it coming up in searches or anything by following these steps:

And let me know if I can help with anything else!

That’s O-K Shawna, leave every thing as is. Video Press doesn’t work on the WordPress I installed. If I give up the Premium (which I like) My videos will be played with Flash and that wont fit well with people I’m trying to attract. Video Press is on My sites WP but when I include a video though it, I get an error message that it only works on Premium WordPress.
I have a year to see what I will do. What I would like to know. The followers I connected with outside of my site, how does it work for them to see my blog and perhaps they will follow me?You have been GREAT, and I hope I will not need to bother you again about things that are expected of me to know. When I put my mind to I generally do very well after I figure it out.

I’m always here to help if you need it. :)
Also, here’s some information about getting VideoPress set up through Jetpack, if it helps:
-
Thank you Shawna, I’ll check the link. If that doesn’t help to make Video Press work on my WP website I’ll let you know (but will tell if it does). As I mentioned before it works with WP (Premium) blog.

Hi again, I went on the link and what I see is that it only works with WordPress.com, not on my wp3_31 folder on my website.
I hope this clears this up for you.

Hey there!
I think there’s some confusion happening here. In order to use VideoPress, you have to connect your self hosted site to your WordPress.com site.
VideoPress will automatically work with WordPress.com because we have it all integrated already.
By following the directions under “Connecting Jetpack and VideoPress” you can use the VideoPress functionality through Jetpack on your self hosted site. If you have the VideoPress plugin installed separately, you should uninstall that.
You can then upload and insert video media like normal through your self hosted site. However, the videos themselves will be hosted on WordPress.com, that’s why the link to WordPress.com is necessary.
Let me know if you have other questions! :)
