I'd like help making posts show up under the correct menus

Hello,
I’ve just published my first few posts and I’m having difficulty making them show up in the menu they’re supposed to – e.g. lunch recipe not showing in recipes or lunch from the top level navigation. I believe the way to do it is to assign categories to posts? I could be wrong! I have done this for all three posts but the only way to see them is via the recent posts in the side bar. Can you help?

Pages are a form of content, like posts, and therefore cannot contain posts.
However, your categories have their own archive pages, like http://shonakane.wordpress.com/category/recipes/lunch/
You can build your own menu to include the category archive pages following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Also, you should probably set Blog as your Posts Page via Settings -> Reading in your blog’s Dashboard. ;)
