I’d like to transfer this domain to a new host

    I have just cancelled my subscription as I am very disappointed with the limitations of the WordPress Premium plan, and would prefer to move elsewhere.
    Please advise how I can use the domain towards a new host.

    Sorry to hear that you were frustrated. If you don’t mind sharing the issue you had with that plan we’d be happy to take on that feedback. I noticed that this is your first time contacting us for assistance, so if you’d like to tell us a little about what you are trying to set up we can also confirm if it’s possible as a free site, or if it makes sense to purchase hosting through another provider instead.

    We have a guide here for exporting the content of your site, but the domain is handled a bit differently. You appear to have canceled your domain name, which has resulted in a refund and also means that it is no longer under our direct control. However, you do have a few options for getting it back, let us know which you would like to move forward with!

    1. Wait for grace period to end – Your domain is in a 5 day grace period (from the time you cancelled) but at the end of that it goes on sale again. As long as no one buys it before you do, you can purchase it again with another provider. According to our records it will be available on or about Feb 16th
    2. Let us recover the domain – Because you have already been refunded, we can send an invoice for registration fees and restore the domain. You’ll be able to connect it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
    3. Stay on WordPress.com – The cost of your domain is included in your plan purchase. To restore your domain just purchase a new plan, and then let us know so we can reattach the domain to your WordPress.com site. Note that you must choose the annual (not monthly) billing option in order for the domain recovery to be free.
