Identify email associated with admin for a hosted blog
-
Hello! My organization has a blog that we ‘retired’ in 2011. We’d like to delete the blog, but due to staff turnover, we don’t know which email address was used as the admin for the blog. How can I locate that information? Or, can WordPress delete the site on our behalf? Thank you!

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site in question?
If the site is hosted with us on WordPress.com, you can try to regain access using our account recovery process:
That is the only way we can give you access to the site.
We cannot delete the site on your behalf – we don’t even do that on behalf of the verified owner. Only a logged-in admin user on a site has the ability to delete it.
We also cannot tell you the email address associated with a specific site or username under any circumstances, as that would directly compromise the security of the account in question and violate our own privacy policy.

Thanks for your response. The url is https://ucsblibraries.wordpress.com/
I will also try to see if one of the account recovery options is feasible for us.
Thank you!

Ok, yes we won’t be able to reveal the email address on that, but one of the options at https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form may work for you.
