  Help! I was notified that my new password is

  I never changed this and have no idea of who this person is or why the password changed. Could I have assistance to help resolve this, thank you.

  Hi there,

  What is the FROM address from which you received that email? All emails we send out will be form a @wordpress.com address. If there’s anything else after the @ in the email, it’s not from us.

  There is no username, irvinbrooks, in use on WordPress.com, and we have not sent any password reset emails to the email address connected to your pancakesandpaychecks account.

  It sounds like this email might have come from a self-hosted WordPress site. If you don’t have an account on any such site, someone might have mistakenly used your email address to create an account. As we don’t control self-hosted WordPress sites, there’s nothing we can do about that on our end.
