IE 8 Browser problem displaying Custom Fonts for Title and Headers

    My Browser (IE 8) won’t display the custom fonts for Title and Headers. I have tried the standard browser troubleshooting recommendations and these do not work.
    When I reset the Fonts to the Theme Default, then there is no problem
    (but I am not happy with this Font/Size).
    Also, upgrading to IE 9 is not an option for my XP System.

    IE 8 has a fair share of security issue, rather poor support for standard web coding practices, and almost no support for modern web technologies, but I’ll see what we can do.

    By any chance, can you switch to Firefox or Chrome? http://browsehappy.com/

    Both are current, updated frequently, support all modern web technology and standard coding practices, and run on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher.

    Thanks for the initial feedback.
    I’m not a fan of Firefox or Chrome either and this is the first time that I have any issues with IE 8 (and I surf a lot).
    Note that the IE generated error messsage that I forwarded to you is very specific and detailed – seems as though the problem is being caused by the code of/ redirect to the custom font provider (typekit.net)?

    Yes, we’re looking into it, but so far this seems specific to IE 8. IE 9 and IE 10 aren’t having any trouble.

    If you can, I highly recommend switching to Firefox and Chrome, as more sites will eventually drop support for IE 8, like Google Apps did in September of last year.
