I'm in Password Hell!

    I don’t know what it is with WordPress but every time I come here I get soooo screwed up in Password hell that I just keep running around in circles.

    I have a newly created Blog, liquidmocean.com I have domain mapped that from theliquidblog.wordpress.com OK all is well. I am also in the process of switching that over to HostGator as I have bought a theme from Platform Lines that I will want to use, so I have also changed the NameServer settings and IP. OK still all good.

    The Blog is still with WordPress though as the transition to the HostGator account takes a while, up to two days at times. The thing is I cannot log in as admin. I have tried every password I ever use for my blogs, which is not that many. The weird thing is that I can still get in to the wordpress location theliquidblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin etc so I tried to reset the password there. Nada, zip. I’m not even getting the notifications to the admin email address as filled out in the WP lost password protocol.

    Tearing my hair out, anyone with any ideas?

    The password you use on Hostgator is a different password than you use here on your site, no relationship at all. The log-in and reset password look almost the same so telling where you are at can be difficult. If you mouse over the “WordPress” part of the log-in box, your Hostgator install should show a link to WordPress.ORG and any sites here at WordPress.COM should have a link showing to WordPress.COM.
