I’m not able to access my widgets on my wordpress admin panel.

  • Unknown's avatar

When I click under Appearance and then clicking the Widgets section, I’m not able to access it all. It says some critical error. Why is this happening?

I’ve even contacted my host and they can’t help. They suggested to contact wordpress support team. And here I am trying to reach out here for the urgent help.

Can anyone here help resolve this issue please!

    Thank You!

    Regards,
    Sunil

  • Hello there,

    Many thanks for reaching out.

Are you able to confirm the URL of the website that you need assistance with please?

    Hi,

    The url is https://www.meanmuscles.com.

So, when I log in to my wordpress admin to access the widgets, I get an error message. It says something like a critical error on my site. I also receive an automated email regarding the issue. Below is the message that’s been triggered. I’ve no idea what’s going on here.

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, IronMass.

First, visit your website (https://www.meanmuscles.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.meanmuscles.com/wp-admin/widgets.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    https://www.meanmuscles.com/wp-login.php?itsec-hb-token=secureadmin&action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=1bZNzC8s2pPL0zB3cbuvGg&rm_key=ozHytjDQnF1XPYpO5qo5b8

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.8.2
Current theme: ironmass child theme (version 1.0)
    Current plugin: (version )
    PHP version 7.4.25

  • Hello there,

This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

This means our support is limited with this site.

For critical errors and downtime, you would be advised to contact the hosting provider of the site.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi,

I’ve already checked with my host and they are not able to help.
They tested with another theme, deactivated all the plugins to check and yet could not find the solution.

They requested me to ask for wordpress support. That’s why I’ve reached out here.

Seems like there is no solution to this issue I’m afraid.

  • Hello there,

You could ask the hosting provider to set you up with a fresh installation perhaps? With the most up to date version of PHP?

Also, as the site is self-hosted, help and advice can be found here: https://wordpress.org/support/

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for your advice. Ok. I’ll check on wordpress.org and hope I can find a solution to this.

Or perhaps I would need to find a certified developer to fix this issue too.

    Thank You once again.

  • One thing you might do too is try a different theme, since the errors mention your theme. Or, contact the theme’s support.

    Hoping this helps!

Ok. I’ll try my luck on that. This is a paid theme and the only theme that looks this good. Can’t replace it with another theme. Else my site will look very bad and messy!

    Thanks!
