  HELP!!! I am trying to buy a domain name, but my payment will not go through because I get an error that my phone number is invalid. I have tried both my land line and my cell phone number – both which are valid, but the payment won’t go through. What can I do?

  I am having this exact same problem (I’ve tried my landline and my mobile number – both registered in the UK, I am trying to checkout with a co.uk domain name).

  It worked in the end (third attempt) when I selected the country code by scrolling all the way down to select United Kingdom from the full alphabet list (rather than selecting United Kingdom from the shorter list at the top of the menu). I have no idea why this would make a difference but it did.
