Image gets resized on upload to WordPress media library. How to prevent it?

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a jpeg image with dimensions 768 × 6043 (file size 692Kb) and I need it just like this. For some reason when I am trying to upload it to WordPress media library, it gets shrunk to 325 x 2560 px.
I haven’t ever set any auto-resizing on this website.
Also the image gets a suffix ‘-scaled’ in its name. Like, ‘xxxxx-scaled.jpg’

    What I tried:
    – deactivating almost all my plug-ins (except Elementor and WooCommerce)
    – setting up Large dimensions in Settings>Media to 0, both height and width (although this, if I understand it right, is irrelevant since it influences images size to show and here scaling happens to the original image in the library :( on upload )
    – chatting with my hosting provider. They say they are sure that no restrictions are set on their end
What it might be or what I can do to find out what is going on? (Like, debugging the process of my image uploading to see what tools get activated and when exactly the scaling happens. Is it possible?)
Thanks a lot to whoever can help with it!
