Image in post

  Once I have added a image to my post and I save it, if I click on the photo to view it, it takes forever to load and comes up as a huge size to where it’s not all seen on the computer screen without scrolling from left to right, up and down. I tried scaling down the image dimensions, but I still must be doing something wrong. I just don’t want it to take so long to load and be hardly visible for my followers. Thanks.

  I chose the first image at the top left of your front page. The size is 4928 X 3264 pixels (8.95 MB). It might be the largest image I’ve seen, and I’ve still got a few enormous ones on my primary site. You’ve got to scale images such as this before you load them to your media gallery.

  So should I delete it, resize it, and then re-upload it? And what is a good size to scale my images to?

  Yes.
  Regarding optimal size: Depends on your chosen theme, your monitor width, how many other images there are on the same page, how fast you’d like the page to load. Some might suggest 500 or 600 pixels as a maximum width, but there is no consensus on this or any other number.
