image quality issues

We are having an issue lately with awful image quality when pulling the images from WordPress through Tailwind to Pinterest and through CoSchedule to Instagram. We are also started losing the image tags when using Tailwind. We never had this issue until 2-3 months ago. What changed? Anybody run into the same problem?

  • Hello there,

Can you confirm the website where the images are being pulled from please?

Also, can you perhaps offer more information on why this is required? We can perhaps try and offer some insights as to how best to go about getting things as you require.

    Hi,
thanks for getting back to me.
The blog in question is https://floranovadesign.com/blog/ (sorry for the wrong link earlier!) This is a managed WordPress blog through Showit.
Whenever we upload a new blog post we use two scheduling tools to upload images from our blog to social media platforms.
We use CoSchedule to schedule image posts to Instagram and Facebook. CoSchedule grabs those images from WordPress.
And we use Tailwind to schedule image posts to Pinterest. It also grabs images from WordPress (along with all keywords and tags).
Now everything was working just fine until the last two blog posts: the images being pulled from WordPress (through Tailwind and CoSchedule) are of terrible quality: very grainy.
Here is a recent example from Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/271271577546879438/
And here is a recent example from Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CYj0SAkMVkt/
We are doing nothing differently but something must have changed image resolution in the past few months.
Can you help figuring out what happened?
    Thanks!!

  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host floranovadesign.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result we don’t have the ability to take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host (Showit) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com. Specifically we don’t offer CoSchedule or Tailwind on our WordPress.com hosting, which is my other clue that you have your site with another provider.

The good news though is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

The folks over in the open-source forums are more familiar with the variant of WordPress that your site users, and are in the best position to help, thanks!
