image sizing of photos

  My images look out of focus at page/post resolution but look fine when clicked on (enlarged). What am I missing in the settings. I am uploading the images at 1024 pixels wide sRGB color space using save for web in Photoshop. The site seems to be resizing the images for the page/post view.

  Hi there!

  The images on your site are probably appearing slightly out of focus because of the resizing. The content area of your theme allows images to be up to 776 px wide on the recent posts page and 892 px wide on the single post pages.

  Have you tried uploading your images at a slighting smaller size?

  Thanks for the reply. After some initial testing the images do look better at 892 px wide on the single post. In the recent posts both 892 and 776 are better, but not superb. Do the settings under the Settings>>media>Images sizes have any effect on how the images display on the blog? if so what do you recommend the Thumbnail, Medium and Large sizes to be?

  I am a photographer and my blog is a ‘visual’ one. do you think that there might be a better template/theme for displaying photos? I have upload a fair amount of photos at 1024 px wide, is there a theme that might make better use of that size? I would rather not have to go back and resize, repost all the past images.

  They’ll affect the default sizes used when you’re editing the size of your images through the image editor. They shouldn’t affect the resolution of your photos overall though.
