Image uploader malfunctioning.

That old, familiar problem is back again. Images uploaded from my harddrive or pulled from my media library will not import into my post, as the uploader merely goes white-blank when you tell it to insert an image. It just stopped working five hours ago or so and won’t re-engage. OMG, what a nonproductive night.
I’ve looked up similar problems in the forums and tried the solutions suggested there, with no luck.
Is WP aware of the problem and is there any estimated resolution time?

Which specific solutions have you attempted?
If you have not reported it to staff there’s no reason to assume they’re aware you’re having a problem.

Hi, raincoaster.
I’ve tried clearing my cache, making sure I’m using https://, tried a different browser (IE), changed from the multiuploader to the browser uploader, and then back again. Forgive my ignorance–I’ve only had one other technical problem in all the time I’ve been on WP, and the solution came in a forum thread discussion like this one. I should find where I need to officially report the problem…

What browser and version are you using? Have you updated your javascript and flash? Have you recently updated your firewall or virus software?

I’m having the same issue. The image uploads ok as it appears in my media library, but I can’t insert it into a post. The media window just turns blank and hangs. I’ve done all the recommended stuff, cleared the cache and cookies, latest version of Chrome etc, etc. I tried in IE as well and it didn’t work.

1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. It sounds like there could be a problem with your ISP. Can you access any of these directly?

I’ve discovered something further tonight about the uploader problem, and gone back and tested to be sure… there is a malfunction where the uploader turns white and the image isn’t inserted into the post only when I’ve included a caption with the picture. No caption — picture inserted.

I was just able to confirm what cloudusa wrote. I am able to insert photos without a caption. Try uploading with a caption though and it doesn’t work. You CAN add a caption after adding the photo to the post. For me, for now that is an acceptable work around, but if this can get fixed that’d be great :)
