images not showing after updating primary domain
-
I’ve imported my blog to https://velvetundergroundblog.wordpress.com/, all images seemed fine. Their URLs seemed to be in the form https://i0.wp.com/velvetunderground.co.il/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/haaretz30.4.15.jpg and they all worked.
When I then set my velvetunderground.co.il domain to be my primary domain, all images turned to be in the form http://velvetunderground.co.il/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/haaretz30.4.15.jpg and they do not show. I then set velvetundergroundblog.wordpress.com back to be my primary domain but the images still don’t show.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble! The importer is supposed to pull all of those images from your old blog to the new one at WordPress.com so they are hosted here, and that process didn’t finish correctly.
Is it possible for you to point your domain back to your old blog (at your previous web host) temporarily? (You can do that by pointing the name servers for that domain back to your old web host’s name servers.) That way, I can ask our team to get the images from your old blog to fix the import for you, so your images can work correctly.

Sure thing, thanks for doing that! I am working with my team to get those images imported correctly, and I will let you know as soon as I have an update. :)

Hi there,
I have mostly good news. :) We were able to import most of the images from your old blog, so now you can point your domain back to WordPress.com and those images will continue to work.
However, there were some images in your older posts that we couldn’t import, because they are also broken on your old blog. Those are mostly from 2011, such as some of the images in this post:
If you have a way to fix the broken images on your old blog there, we can try to import those again. You can also go directly to the posts on your WordPress.com blog and fix the images there, if you prefer:
If I can do anything more to help, please let me know!

Thank you.
The first image on this link is, for example, https://velvetundergroundblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/cotarot9.9.11.jpg.
Will that still work when I’ll change my primary domain from velvetundergroundblog.wordpress.com to velvetunderground.co.il? -
Hi there,
I see you already changed your primary domain to velvetunderground.co.il, so I just want to confirm that your images will still work with that primary domain. WordPress.com serves your images on that permanent address to make sure they always work, even if you change the primary domain on your site.
Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

I’m still confused about the images.
On one of the most recent posts, http://velvetunderground.co.il/2015/05/23/%D7%97%D7%95%D7%95%D7%AA-%D7%94%D7%98%D7%95%D7%A7%D7%91%D7%A7%D7%99%D7%9D-23-5-29-5/, the first image link is http://velvetunderground.co.il/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/ידיעותלפח.jpg and it’s not on https://velvetundergroundblog.files.wordpress.com. So I’m wondering about this difference. Maybe that image is served from the old server, I can’t tell. And I wonder if images beginning with velvetunderground.co.il will disappear. -
Hi there,
I’m not sure why that image wasn’t imported correctly. I checked a saved version of your site in the Internet Archive, and it looks like the image is visible there:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150703080550/http://velvetunderground.co.il/
Is that the correct image for that post? If so, you can save that image and re-upload it to that post there. (I can help you with that if it’s the correct image.)
