when i upload or add an image already in Media, it appears grayed out. AI support stated that’s because my site is now set as ‘coming soon’ and is private. to me this is not wysiwyg, wierd and doesn’t help me determine if the image is right for what I’m doing. if this is normal behavior, how are you dealing with it. I came from Squarespace where everything was wysiwyg.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Think i may have found a solution: unpublish pages and posts, create and point the static page as the home page for “coming soon.” When ready, publish existing pages and posts.

  • Hi there! for the moment you can go ahead and try that, if you notice that doesn’t help, you can reach out back to us through our costumer support section here: https://wordpress.com/support/contact/ and we are going to assist you accordingly!

Hi @sabyrd92288647b605, using only a static “coming soon” homepage could still leave other published pages accessible through direct links.

You shouldn’t need to unpublish anything. Go to Settings > Site visibility and select Coming Soon instead of Private, your published content will remain hidden from visitors but images should display normally in the editor.
