Images won't display in posts

I’m hoping someone can help me with this as I’m not very technically minded. My images will no longer display in my posts. I upload them to the media gallery and they are there, but when I select one to insert into a post under the Attachment Display Settings I only get Allignment and Link to options, not image size. If I click on edit image I get a message that says: “Image data does not exist. Please re-upload the image.”
If I try to insert the image it doesn’t appear in the post, although when I look at the text editor there is something there: <img class=”aligncenter size-large wp-image-29313″
I can insert a gallery using the same images with no problem at all. I am completely baffled. I am using the Vantage theme, although the problem started when I was using Portfolio Press.

Sorry, here is what appears in the text editor when I insert the image.

Is it something to do with the width=”1″ height=”1″ bit?
