Images won’t upload direct from P.C.

    My WordPress site doesn’t seem to recognise the ‘my pictures’ location in my P.C. for direct upload of images and instead keeps telling me to link my Google albums for quicker uploading (Which I don’t have). I expected to add images to WordPress direct from my P.C. but now wonder if it’s compulsory to add images via Google photos? Any advice welcome and thank you in advance. :)

    Images aren’t limited to Google Photos, they can still be uploaded directly from your PC (there is plenty of space in your Media Library) :)

    Are you trying to insert an image through the post editor using Add > Media > Add New? Or are you going to My Sites > Media > Add?

    I checked your account from my side and didn’t encounter this message but once I know which steps you took, I can take another look.

    Would you also be able to make a screenshot of the error you are seeing and upload it to a service like Snaggy (if you can’t upload it to your site)?

    Thank you very much indeed for your reply. I should have provided more clarification. The issue seems to be related to when I’m trying to acces the site from my PC.
    When writing post updates from my phone or iPad – photos stored on the phone upload directly and seamlessly as expected.
    Working on the PC however – the interface shows the existing blog posts and the same toolbars, but using the filepath My Sites > Media > Add, a pop up appears telling me that I need to add images via my google account (and that it must be linked). Thus ensues a convoluted process of opening PC my pictures – adding them to my google images, then going back to the blog and adding the images from my google images – a drop down menu option appears for this when selecting the add media icon. A separate pop up also appears (from Microsoft) suggesting I download the ‘uploader App’ . It may well be a glitch on my home PC. Thank you once again for your response.

    Solved

    Thank you so much for your kind suggestions. Today when I logged in, WordPress invited me to try ‘Blocks’ their new editing programme. Thinking I had nothing to lose I accepted.
    It appears to have solved the whole image transfer issue and now I’m dragging and dropping images into the posts problem free.
    Very many thanks once again for helpful suggestions. I believe it may have been a compatibility issue on my P.C.
