Import from Livejournal

  Hi, I’m having trouble importing from Livejournal. I know I’ve got the username and password correct, but it keeps coming back ‘Login Failed.’ Is there something more I need to know?

  Hi there,

  The LiveJournal importer no longer works. LiveJournal made a change to their API over a year ago that broke remote authentication not only for WordPress.com, but for several other services. We tried working with them to get it fixed at the time, but their support was not very helpful.

  Another WordPress.com user came up with their own way to import the posts, that uses the .xml export file from LiveJournal and converts it to work with the WordPress.com importer. If you want to try that (at your own risk), you can find more information here:

  But otherwise there is no way to import a site from LiveJournal to WordPress.com any more.
