Import from LiveJournal

  I’m trying to import from my LiveJournal site but your interface keeps telling me ‘Logging in to LiveJournal failed. Check your username and password and try again.’ I’m certain that I’m typing in the correct credentials. Is there something else that could be causing a problem?

  Hi there,

  LiveJournal imports have been impossible for around two years now, and it also affects other services besides WordPress.com.

  LiveJournal had made a change to the API that the importer used to connect to sites there, and it is no longer possible to connect. We have tried working with LiveJournal to fix this, but they have not responded to our queries.

  The best I can offer if a workaround another forums user devised that takes the LiveJournal export file, and then tries to convert it into a format that’s compatible with the regular WordPress importer at My Site ->Import. There’s no guarantee that it will work in all cases, though, and it’s not an official solution so you use it at your own risk.
