Import progress

How do I know when my Import is done? I can see all my pages, blog posts and media, but I haven’t received an email from WordPress yet. Also, I’m not sure if my theme and customizations will be imported, or if it’s just the pages, blog posts and media.

Did you use the WordPress importer? If so, I don’t see any imports still in progress on that site. It looks like we did send an email yesterday, but it’s possible it landed in Spam or another filter in your email. You should also have received a notification in the admin bar at the top.
.xml import files only contain your content, i.e. posts, pages, comments, and links to the media files in the other site’s library. The actual media files are transferred after the content import completes. But theme and customizations are not imported – those you’ll need to set up again manually on the new site.

Thank you for your response. I’m updating a page for a school group and I lost track of which email address the email would go to. I did find it. The import worked well and I was able to select and customize the new theme.
