Import site without override

    We have an existing mtm123.org site that we want to eventually override with a website that someone began building for us. They are no longer working on it and have given us the file. Is it possible to store this site on here and still build on it without overriding the existing site just yet? Thank you!

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com is a managed hosting service so we do not have the infrastructure needed to deploy a site from developer backup files.

    In this case you may need to turn to a more traditional (and developer-friendly) host like Bluehost, Hostgator, GoDaddy, etc. We would not have a way to deploy a private (staging) site from the files you were provided.

    You are welcome to keep your WordPress.com site at mtm123.org as long as you wish. While it is not possible to set up the site your developer was working on, if you do find a host that is able to help then it would be possible to connect mtm123.org to it, to replace the site you have now with the newly created site. let us know when you are ready for help with this, thanks.
