Importing content from site to another

  I already have a website that is being hosted on Microsoft’s Sharepoint. I like the content of my current site but am unable to tweak it with some of the features I see here that I like. I have my own domain name, that is hosted by Melbourne IT and I intend to keep it with them, but if I create a website on WordPress.com I’ll need help importing content into it. At this time I am only interested in creating a website. Thanks.

  I haven’t created a blog, and am not interested in creating one. I’m only interested in POSSIBLY creating a website on WordPress.com. However, I’m unable to get to the referenced Dashboard–unless I first create a blog (???).

  As you can see, WordPress.com is a turnkey blogging solution which can be adapted to several different website styles. But yes, FIRST you register a blog.
