Importing posts from 1&1 to WordPress.com

    I want to import my posts and data from a previous blog http://heurejuste.arcand-feuillet.com which is hosted by 1&1. On their site, 1&1 claims the exported file will be a WordPress extended RSS or WXR that will contain my posts, comment, custom fields and categories. So I exported that file. Then, when I import the file into my new Premium blog on WordPress, I receive this error message:

    Import WordPress
    Sorry, there has been an error.
    This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number.

    I need to have these posts imported in my new blog. Can you help?

    Shows your blog version as 2.2.1 that is way way old and there have been several database changes since then – whoever let you keep using that old version is a vile person.

    Contact the staff when they open the contact form on Monday and see if they can help http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ – search for anything then page down for the contact form.
