Importing to WordPress.com from WordPress.org

    Hi,

    I recently took over for a web designer using WordPress.org and WordPress.com is more up my street. I was able to import my website in to WordPress.com. However, with WordPress.org it was already upgraded to the business account but it does not connect with WordPress.com. Is there anyway around this rather than reentering card details etc?

    Hi Vicki,
    WordPress.org is free software, so there’s no ability to purchase a plan there. If they had a plan, it was with the host that had their site and not WordPress.org. The plan there won’t carry over to WordPress.com, as they’re different hosts.

    If you’d like to use WordPress.com’s Business Plan, you will need to subscribe to that by entering card details. This will be a separate purchase, as this is a separate company from the host they used in the past.

    Does that make a little more sense as to why the purchase on another host does not apply to WordPress.com?
