Importing won't finish
-
I exported my .XML file from my old wordpress site, and tried to import to the new one. Importing started two and a half days ago, but it won’t finish. I tried to export-import my other blog, that worked just fine. Seeking help, can it be cancelled the importing progress, which is stuck, so I can try importing again?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’ve reset the importer for you.
It looks like the reason it failed is because your import file is too big. We have a file size limit of 15MB on import files, and your file is over 18MB according to your site’s logs.
You’ll need to use an XML splitter to break that file up into smaller pieces, like explained here:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-split-large-xml-files-in-wordpress/

Thank you very much for the advice!
But unfortunately the importer is still running, it wasn’t reseted :(
I used a splitter, but I can’t import anything yet. -
The importer is not stuck on http://ottisfozblog.wordpress.com/ You should be able to import to that site again. If it’s showing you that the import is still in progress, please try clearing your browser cache.
You can also try directly from the WP-Admin dashboard, here:
https://ottisfozblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=wordpress
If you’re trying to import to a different site, please give the URL and I can take a look.

Thank you very much, you were really helpful!
I splitted the import file and managed to copy all content from the old blog to the new one.One last question, if I may: the pictures inserted in each post have link to the old blog, even though all media content is also copied to my new blog. The picture’s links will change automatically?
I’m asking that because my old blog’s administrators will soon delete that page with all the posts and pictures. -
It can take a few hours after the import completes for the images to also be imported. I’m about to sign off for the day, but I’ll set a follow up to check on your site in the morning. If I still see images linking to the old site, I can ask a developer to take a look and see if we can fix it manually. I will need the address of your old site to do that, so can you please provide that.
How long will the old site still be online? We’ll need at least 3 or 4 days for a manual fix if needed. If you haven’t already, it might be a good idea to also ask your host for full backup of your site. That cannot be imported here, but it will mean you at least still have all your images.

Just to follow up, I checked your site, and it looks like the images were correctly imported, but the links in your posts still reference the old site. I’ve asked a developer if we can fix those for you. I’ll let you know if they can do anything about it.
To be on the safe side, the old site should remain online if at all possible until they’re done doing what they’re able to do.

Good news. We were able to fix most of the images on your WordPress.com site. You’ll just need to fix these two posts yourself:
