improving blog before beginning to try to make money

I have put my blog together as best as I can without knowing really anything about anything. I would like to start promoting it and potentially attempting to make money with it. How do I start? Im not sure if my site even has what it needs to make money.

Your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org at another host. You can manage your site through WordPress.com thanks to the Jetpack plugin you have on that site, but we have no control over your site itself, and it’s using a different version of WordPress than the one found on WordPress.com.
We have some tips on increasing traffic to your site at https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-more-views-and-traffic/, and some info on monetization at https://en.support.wordpress.com/monetize-your-site/, much of which apply to your version of WordPress as well, so you can have a look at those.
But for help with your version of WordPress it’s better to ask in the self-hosted forums over at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
