IN DESPERATE Need to complete transfer from WIX platform

    I transfered over my WIX account to WordPress but I’m stuck as to how to complete the process. WIX support has been no help at all when asked how to proceed.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Message from Wix:

    Please note that it is not possible to change the name servers of a domain name purchased from Wix. You may either transfer the domain away from Wix, or point the domain to a different IP address.

    * If you have purchased a Wix domain, but have decided to transfer it away from Wix, you can do so easily by following the instructions here.

    * To point your domain to a different IP address, you will need to modify the domain’s A records. You will need to contact your new host and request for the relevant IP address. For more information about how to edit your A records, click here.

    Hi there,

    We don’t have a single IP address for your site since we have your site on a number of geographically-diverse servers to improve speed and uptime.

    Since we change out the IPs we use based on when different datacenters/server go online, we don’t suggest using IP addresses.

    Our suggested route is to map your domain (by adding it via the Store > My Domains page on your site’s dashboard), add the MX records currently on your site to our Store > My Domains > Edit DNS, then changing your nameservers to WordPress.com. Since Wix is saying this is not possible, you can transfer your domain to a different registrar like GoDaddy, and then update the nameservers to ours.

    However, if you don’t want to do that you can still go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below.

    • 192.0.81.250
    • 66.155.11.238
    • 76.74.254.123
    • 192.0.80.250
    • 76.74.254.120
    • 66.155.9.238

    If you find your site is down, please contact us ASAP for the new IP addresses.
