Inappropriate adverts on my blog post

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, when i read my posts I don’t get to see the adverts that you place on my posts. This morning it was brought to my attention by a reader of my latest post ‘Colour Changing Crab Spider’ that there were two adult content adverts in my post. I write nature and travel posts and don’t think adverts for pills of sexual ability are appropriate in my posts. Please can you change the adverts that you insert to outdoor apparel and activities and advise on how I can view what adverts are placed in my posts.

    Regards,

    Mark Dixon

  • Hi Mark,

Please ask those site visitors to report the ads using the “Report this ad” link that appears directly below every ad we show on your site. We serve thousands of ads across tens of thousands of site using several different advertising networks every day, so it’s completely impossible for us to know which specific ad you’re referring to simply from a description or a screen shot.

I’m afraid that is not possible. Online ads are not designed to be relevant to content on any specific site, but instead are targeted to the person viewing your site at any given time. What ads someone sees depend on factors like their location, browser history, Google Search history, etc., and in cases where someone uses browser settings or add-ons to block ads tracking, or if they don’t accept our cookie policy, they’ll see generic ads targeted at people in their location instead.
