Inappropriate Content

Afternoon Team!
My name is Randy Senger, I am contacting you on behalf of the Inappropriate Boys Club. The content the members of my website share includes Nudity, Offensive Language, Offensive to Others, Offensive to Groups, and Gore. We do have standards, and I am willing to do without some. Anything posted on my website is generally also found on our other platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Discord. However I would like to double check your Rules/Regulations prior to making any sort of payments. I have a few questions regarding my website prior to starting up with a plan.
1: Is there any content not supported by your Hosting Program?
2: Am I able to create a website with login’s?
3: If I create a website with login’s, am I able to charge members to use my website?
4: Am I able to connect to my Shopify Store for advertising my merchandise on my website? Or can I create a page with images of my merchandise for sale, and attach links to my Shopify Store?
5: Am I able to edit the CSS/HTML of my Theme, myself? -
Hi there,
1: Is there any content not supported by your Hosting Program?
You can find our mature content policy and user guidelines that outline what types of content is acceptable on WordPress.com here:
We do not discuss further details of terms of service issues beyond what’s already publicly available on those pages here in the forums – ultimately the call of what’s allowed and what not is made by our terms of service team who only communicate about that with the owner of a particular site.
2: Am I able to create a website with login’s?
A regular WordPress.com site can be set to private, so only people you invite can access it. In that case members will need to create their own WordPress.com username account through which they’ll then access your site.
The other option is a membership plugin. That can be used on our Business Plan, but except for WooCommerce Memberships, most membership plugins don’t work well with the unique way that WordPress.com sites are set up, so if you want to use another plugin it might save you a few headaches to go with a different host instead :)
3: If I create a website with login’s, am I able to charge members to use my website?
As long as you have a plugin that allows for paid memberships, like WooCommerce Memberships already does.
4: Am I able to connect to my Shopify Store for advertising my merchandise on my website? Or can I create a page with images of my merchandise for sale, and attach links to my Shopify Store?
There are plugins to display/embed Shopify stores on WordPress, and you’ll be able to use those on our Business Plan.
5: Am I able to edit the CSS/HTML of my Theme, myself?
You can add custom CSS to your theme on our Premium and Business Plans.
We don’t provide FTP access, so it’s not possible to edit any of your site’s files directly. But it’s also not recommended in general to make changes to WordPress themes in this way, as those changes would be lost whenever your theme updates.
The recommended way to make changes to a theme beyond basic CSS is to create a child theme, and on our Business Plan you will be able to upload a child theme to your site.
