Incomplete start with the website

  I registered a site in the form of xxxx.wordpress.com but I did not receive an email to my email address. So when I log out I am unable to log into my account again, therefore having no access to the website (I’m asking this question in another one) and the web name was shown as already taken when I tried to register the same name. Is there a way to continue or to delete the website (so I can register with the same name again?)
