Incorrect authorisation code

I am currently attempting to transfer a domain from WordPress.com to VentraIP. I have followed the steps to obtain the authorisation code from WordPress and have received a code emailed to me.
However, I have been informed by VentraIP that the authorisation code provided is incorrect. Has anybody heard of this happening before and, if so, does anybody know why this may have occurred? Is there any alternative way of obtaining the correct code?

Hi there,
Before you can transfer your domain to another registrar, you will need to remove the Private Registration from your domain. Otherwise, the transfer will not work.

Thanks for getting back to me. I have already attempted to cancel my private registration, however receive this error message: Your domain info is not protected by the Private Whois upgrade. Please return to My Upgrades.
The domain is currently unlocked. -
Thanks for letting me know about that error message. I removed the private registration from our system, as well, so you should be all set now.
Can you please try resending the transfer authorization code and see if it works this time? Let me know if you continue to have trouble with the transfer.

The authorisation code I am being sent by WordPress continues to be rejected by my new host, VentraIP. I have received the following advice from their tech team: It looks like the transfer failed again due to an invalid password. I’d recommend that you contact the old registrar and ask them for a new EPP code.

The code you sent me is the automated code I have been sent on more than 5 separate occasions now. I have copy and submitted it – without space and including all symbols – to VentraIp multiple times. I continue to receive the same error message I have always received. -
