incorrect number of subscribers in downloaded csv file

When I go to my ‘Users’ page, it says that I have 201 subscribers. However when I download the subscriber list as a CSV file, only 134 names appear there. Which one is correct and how do I resolve this? (I’ve checked and no, the difference is not duplicates)

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I can understand how the discrepancy between the subscriber count on your Users page and the downloaded CSV file could be confusing. Here’s the explanation for this:

The number you’re seeing on the Users page (201 subscribers) includes both email subscribers and WordPress.com users who have subscribed to your site. When you export the subscriber list, it only includes the email subscribers because these users have explicitly shared their email addresses with you.

On the other hand, the rest of the subscribers are WordPress.com users who have followed your site through their WordPress.com accounts. For privacy reasons, WordPress.com does not share the email addresses of these users. Therefore, they are not included in the exported CSV file.

That’s why you’re seeing fewer subscribers (134) in the CSV file compared to the Users page.

For more detailed information, you can refer to the following support document: https://wordpress.com/support/followers/

I hope this clears up the confusion. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or need further clarification.
