Incorrect Statistics?

  Hello, I’m looking at the stats for Sept 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 25. Each of these days have zero visitors and zero page views. Yet, one of my files has downloads. You can see on the 14th that I have over 900 downloads… how is this possible?! Shouldn’t there at least be some page views? Are the stats inaccurate?

  Hi there!

  It’s possible for someone to access the file directly without visiting your site. If someone opens the link to the file directly (which can happen if you shared the direct link to the file or if they copied the link somewhere), it doesn’t count as a view/visit as they didn’t actually visit your site but rather accessed the file directly.
