Incorrect stats?

I’ve been monitoring my stats and I’ve noticed that they are very incorrect. For example, it will say that no one visited my site when I know for a fact someone did. Because they talked to me afterwards about it. I’ve even watched someone visit my site because I was curious. Nothing showed up in my stats. What’s going on? Why are the stats reporting false information?

I just viewed your site, and my views recorded immediately, so your stats are working fine.
But there are a few reasons why you might not be seeing views recorded for people who read your posts.
1) You have your feed settings set to show full posts. This means anyone following your blog via email or via feed readers like Feed.ly or even Google’s Flipboard app, can read your full posts there without ever visiting your site. If they don’t visit your site, no view is recorded. You can change this setting at My Site ->Settings ->Writing ->Feed Settings.
2) Admin views are not counted. In other words, if you view your own site, your views will not be counted. But if you view your site in an incognito browser tab without logging in first, you’ll see those views get counted.
3) In order to record a view on your site we load something called a tracking pixel in the browser of the person opening your site. But there are many browser add-ons that block that pixel from loading, and given the recent emphasis on online privacy after the Facebook scandal and the implementation of the new European privacy laws, many more people than before are using those. If someone blocks the pixel from loading in their browser, we have no way to count their visit, and there’s nothing we can do about that.
