Indexing site on Google

I can’t see my website in Google results. (https://letmefinish2019.wordpress.com/)
I have tried to get it verified, (using a Google HTML tag). It keeps saying it cannot find it. Is there anything else I need to do. Does Google automatically index sites?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Google can take days to months to index new sites, they don’t do it in real time.
If you add your site to their Search Console, you can follow its progress in the index: https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/

Thanks – I have tried adding to their search console and the verification fails. Not sure what I am doing wrong?

Cheers, just tried that and it looks to have worked. It finally says ownership is verified.
Do I just need to wait now for Google to index my site?

Google, and other search engines, started indexing your site the moment you first set it to public. We also ping all major search engines every time you publish a new post on your site.
Verifying with Search Console can help speed up the process, but it’s not a requirement for a site being indexed.
What is a requirement, though, is that there has to be something to index, and your site has very little content. You currently have only one post, and that was published almost a month ago, on 22 May. You have a handful of pages as well, but pages don’t rank as highly in search engines as posts, and we don’t ping search engines when you publish or update those.
So rather than just waiting, at this point the best thing you can do to ensure your site gets indexed is to regularly publish new content on your site, a few times a week at first, if possible.
