Insecure password warnings on login page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi1
Firefox and Edge are both telling me that my login page isn’t secure. I’ve tried putting http:// in front of my admin log in, but it still doesn’t work.
We’ve been hacked in the past so I’m super sensitive on this stuff.
Please let me know how to sort this out.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, since there’s no content at rob7comau.wordpress.com are you talking about a different site?

Just to clarify, this support forum assists users of WordPressdotcom hosted sites and the guidance provided here may not be relevant to DIY WordPress.org sites hosted with an external hosting provider (e.g. Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.).

If you need help with a site using the open source WP (org) software you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they likely have more experience with the type of issue you are having.

  • Hi there,

Just to add to the above, the only reason you’ll see that error is if you’re trying to access your login page via an HTTPS link while you don’t have a valid SSL certificate active on your domain. To set up SSL you’ll need to contact your hosting provider for help.
