Inserting post in chronological order

  Help please: I need to add a post about an old event but I don’t know how to insert it amongst ‘older’ posts? Hope this makes sense.

  Just set the date of that post to the date you want it to be. Go to Document > Publish and click on immediately, now you can change the date of that post.
