Inserting ‘Read More’ Functionality into Pages
-
I’m hoping to insert ‘Read More’ buttons in the Pages portion of our website, where we want to entice the reader with a few simple lines and then give them the option to ‘read more’ or scroll on.
Is there any way to do this if our website isn’t blog-oriented? ‘Paginations’ aren’t what we’re looking for either.
Thanks very much

Hello there, Is raconteurwriting.wordpress.com the site you need help with? Single Pages by default display the entire content of that Page and actually Pagination would work quite well for what you are describing.
However, the theme you’ve chosen for your above site, Goran https://wordpress.com/theme/goran has a special front page template that displays 3 individual Pages in brief and automatically adds a Read More button
If you are talking about a different site or intended something else, please post back here and let us know.

Hey, thanks very much for your response. I’m not sure why my original message auto-populated that I needed help with raconteurwriting.wordpress.com – I’m inquiring on behalf of a different website, moveasyouare.com
Is there any way to implement the ‘read more’ functionality on the main page here? Or, if you still think Paginations would work well, would you mind explaining how I could best put it to use? I tried it out the other day but didn’t think it functioned the way I wanted it to.
Thanks again!

NS50.DOMAINCONTROL.COMHi there, moveasyouare.com is using the standalone WordPress software and is hosted with GoDaddy rather than being hosted here on WordPressdotcom.
For assistance with this topic, I suggest contacting your theme author or consult the support documentation and forums for the WordPress software https://wordpress.org/support/ where they have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
Just to clarify, this support forum assists users of the WordPressdotcom platform. WordPressdotcom (where we are ) and WordPress are separate entities with different documentation and support forums.
