  I tried to install WordPress locally. I followed the instructions. After the download WordPress is complete, extract the zip file to C:xampphtdocs. When browse this URL- http://localhost/wordress in the browser for initializing the actual installation of WordPress, the page said ‘Not Found
  The requested URL was not found on this server.’ Please advise! Thanks!

  That would be for a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
