Invalid activation key

As many others have also experienced, I just got my confirmation email, clicked the activate link, and saw ‘invalid activation key’. Why can’t I activate my account? Is it because I used a masked email when signing up?

All verification and confirmation links are time sensitive links. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I clicked on the link within two minutes of receiving the email, so it was certainly not expired.

Then it’s just a glitch. Not to worry as Staff will fix it ass soon as they work their way forward to this thread.

I cannot activate the account. I just clicked the email link again, and it said “Invalid activation key”. This isn’t working.

Also, I checked the “Notify me of followup posts via e-mail” box on each post, but I have not received any emails for replies to this thread. And I just sent a test email to the masked email account that I used to create my account, and the email was received as expected.

Sorry that I was unclear. According to our system, your account has been activated. So you don’t need to click the confirmation link in the email.
Also, I checked the “Notify me of followup posts via e-mail” box on each post, but I have not received any emails for replies to this thread.
Can you confirm that your email address is entered correctly in your account settings:

Thanks for letting me know! I’ll do some testing and try to figure out what’s going on there. Have you clicked on the “Subscribe to this topic” link at the bottom of the right sidebar?
