Inviting others to view my blog

  Do people I invite to view my blog have to open a Word Press account? I would prefer to keep my blog private for family and friends to view but don’t want them to have to register and crate a URL.

  They don’t have to create a blog, but they DO have to have a WordPress.com account, otherwise WP.com has no way of knowing who they are.
