  • The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.12

    192.0.78.13

    Hi,
I have put in the name servers you have given and changed the IP as you have given. The website has still not been up. The site has been down for more than 24 hr and I have just switched off the redirection. I checked the problem using an external tool ‘intodns.com’ before I switched off the redirection. This is the error I have got

ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond:
The ones that did not respond are:
    192.0.74.9 198.181.117.9 198.181.116.9

ERROR: Looks like you have less than 2 nameservers. According to RFC2182 section 5 you must have at least 3 nameservers, and no more than 7. Having 2 nameservers is also ok by me.

    Hi,
My site has been down for more than 48 hours. Since the DNS zone files have been moved to WordPress, my domain registrar cannot help in checking the IP. Could you check at your end and try resolving the issue immediately?

  • I have put in the name servers you have given and changed the IP as you have given.

You wouldn’t switch the nameservers AND change the IP. That will cause problems. You would either use nameservers OR the IP/A-Record.

So I suspect that is your issue.
