    Hello everyone.
Does anyone know where I can find the IP addresses related to the nameservers?
    Thank you very much!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s nameservers to the following values:

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

We have additional instructions for that here: Map an Existing Domain

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

If you still want to go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

    • 192.0.80.250
    • 192.0.81.250
    • 66.155.11.238
    • 66.155.9.238
    • 76.74.254.120
    • 76.74.254.123

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

    Dear rachelmcr,
thank you very much for your quick response. The problem is that my registrar (godaddy) doesn’t recognize the nameservers NS1/NS2/NS3 so it asks me to insert the IP addresses instead of them. I called the support and the guy told me that I have to ask WordPress to tell me these IPs and then the problem will be solved. Is it possible? Actually, I don’t know where I can find them so I thought (and hope) someone could give me this answer.
I’ve already bought the domain and I’ve already mapped it; I’ve already done everything, this is the only thing missing.

    Thank you again! :)

    Hi there,

You can use the 6 IP addresses at the end of my previous message. Those IPs can be used to create A records, to point your domain to WordPress.com. We recommend using at least 2 IP addresses, but you can use all 6 if you’d like. Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

    Dear rachelmcr,
thank you very very much for your support and information! Now it works! I had to wait the technical time for the website to work but now everything’s ok! I’ve insert 3 of the 6 IPs you told me! :)
Can I ask you one last thing about the e-mail configuration? Do I have to interface with WordPress or with GoDaddy? How long does it take to be usable?

    Thank you again.

    Hi there,

I’m so glad it’s working for you. :)

Can I ask you one last thing about the e-mail configuration? Do I have to interface with WordPress or with GoDaddy? How long does it take to be usable?

I double-checked your settings, and now your domain is using the WordPress.com nameservers. That means you will need to set up your email here at WordPress.com. We have two options for that (you can use one or the other, but not both):

    1. You can set up Email Forwarding so that email sent to your custom domain (like (email visible only to moderators and staff)) is forwarded to your email address.

    2. You can Add Email from another email service provider. In this case, after you set it up, it usually takes a few hours for your email to start working.

Please let me know if I can provide any further help with that. :)

    Dear rachelmcr,
your instruction are very clear. I would like to proceed with the first option (email forwarding) but I can’t find the “Manage Email link” next to the name of my domain as the instruction says. The only thing I can see is “Modify DNS”..Sorry, I’m feeling like a fool but even though I followed the instruction I don’t see it! :/
    Thanks again

Sorry for the confusion! I checked your domain’s DNS, and I see that you already entered a couple email records there. You can find those by clicking the Edit DNS (“Modifica DNS”) link next to your domain.

If you delete those records and save your changes, the Manage Email link will appear below the Edit DNS link on your Domains page. Then you can follow the instructions to set up email forwarding.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Yes!! Now it works, you were right! I deleted the two “codes” and the button appeared. Thank you very much again.

Famous last words.. It works but if I reply with the “new” email it appears the old address as sender..is there the possibility to show the new email even when I reply?
    Thank you!! :)

  • Unknown's avatar

Hooray! I’m glad the email forwarding is working now, too. :)

You can change the sender to show your new email — the instructions for changing the sender depends on what email client you use. We have links to the instructions for popular email clients here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-forwarding/#changing-your-from-address

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

I should have read at the end of the page, sorry! Now it works.
I think that was the last question.. :)
Thank you, have a nice day!
