Is it possible to change CNAME record to point to Big Cartel?

  I’ve been trying to change my domain registered with wordpress.com (http://beansontees.com/) to point at a Big Cartel site (https://beansontees.bigcartel.com) by following these instructions http://help.bigcartel.com/basics/domains/other-domain-setup/

  Unfortunately I can’t change the CNAME record on the domain as this is locked. Can this be unlocked? Is there another options for pointing the domain. I don’t Big Cartel don’t give out their IP or nameservers.

  Hi there,

  You can add a new “www” subdomain that points to Big Cartel, as mentioned in their instructions. However, it isn’t possible to set up 301 redirects or edit the *.beansontees.com CNAME record for a domain registered at WordPress.com.

  If you need to do that, I’d recommend transferring your domain to another registrar that allows you to set up your domain that way.
