Is it possible to remove year and month from media files path?

  Media path: site.files.wp.com/file.txt
  Instead of: site.files.wp.com/2015/07/file.txt

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Not on WordPress.com.

  You can, of course, host your file elsewhere and insert it in your post or page. Here’s more about inserting images with an URL https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/#insert-an-image-from-the-web

  If you are talking about other file types, it will help to know what kind of file.

  However, WPcom uses Photon to cache any such file for faster loading and there is no way to turn it off here.

  For images, only images uploaded to WordPress.com can be used as a Featured image or used in an image Gallery
