Is it true wordpress can shut down a blog anytime?

  I heard this, and it really worried me. I don’t want my little blog to be shut down one day unexpectedly. Does anyone know how to ensure this never happens? If I pay the £2.50 a month will that do it? I dont want a host or paid site, its just my little blog and nothing major. But if this is the only way to stop the potential of it being shutdown on me then I’ll have to find the cash. :( Hoping someone can help
