Is latex support included by default on free blogs? I just created a new free blog and tried some very simple latex content in the first post but there was no attempt to parse it, i.e. $a = a$ shows up literally.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

Latex is available for all blogs hosted here at WordPress.com. As timethief mentioned, we have a support page with details about using Latex here: LaTeX

We aren’t able to provide extensive support for Latex syntax, but if you’re having trouble getting it working I’m happy to help with that. Please be sure to include $latex at the beginning of your code and $ at the end, like this:

    $latex your-latex-code-here$

If that isn’t working for you, please let me know.

Thanks to both of you .. I was missing the ‘latex’ after the first $ sign. It doesn’t seem to work in the title of a post, but can live without that (although it would be nice to have there again).
