is there a way to have a blog page that resembles an Excel page

i’m an idiot . all i want is a blog site where a selected number of people can go to the site and sign up if they want to play tennis on a particular night. Each week, these people, can view who has signed up, and know there are enough people to create a foursome.
any ideas on how to do this, or why (besides my confessed idiocy) i am having trouble creating this?
    thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You might be able to do something with Google Documents – I think someone said it could be done but I have never tried it

PS – depending on how many people etc you might be able to just have a Post for a time frame and people would leave a comment about when they want to play – sort of clunky

Actually, once you introduce interactivity, you introduce complexity, and what you’re asking isn’t simple. There are two ways you can do this on a Wp.com blog that I can see.

    1) create a public Google Calendar and allow the public to edit the events to sign up on particular days. This will have to be patrolled daily to eliminate spam, but it should work.

    2) Create a post per day and allow people to sign up in the comments.
